About the Erie County Republican Party

Central Committee

The Erie County Republican Party is governed by a Central Committee made up of elected Republican representatives from each of the 62 precincts in Erie County.  Committeemen must reside in their elected precinct.  A precinct may also be represented by a Deputy Committeemen, who is nominated by the Chairman and appointed by the Central Committee. Central Committeemen are elected every four years in the Gubernatorial primary election.  Vacancies to the Central Committee are filled through an application and appointment process.

The Central Committee meets several times a year to discuss a wide range of topics from elections, candidates, expenditures, fundraising, conventions, events and party management issues.

Executive Committee

One Central Committeemen from each township, village and city is elected to serve on the Executive Committee at the organizational meeting, which takes place every four years after the Central Committee is elected.  The Executive Committee meets several times a year to discuss elections, candidates, fundraising, and party management issues.

Leadership

The Central Committee elects a Chairman, Vice-Chairman, Treasurer, and Secretary every four years after the election of the Central Committeemen, as required by statute and the party By-Laws.
